Leasedrive Velo celebrates 25th anniversary
Leasedrive Velo, one of the UK's largest independent privately-owned vehicle management groups in the UK, celebrated its 25th anniversary on 25 July 2008.
Commercial director, Roddy Graham said: "We have attained another major milestone in our history and look forward to taking the company on to bigger and better things over the next 25 years."
Major milestones in the company's history include:
1983 - Leasedrive contract hire business established
1988 - Velo contract hire business established by Dresdner Kleinwort Benson
1990 - Leasedrive rental operations started
2003 - New senior management team at the helm at Leasedrive, following BIMBO transaction in May. Leasedrive Group established
2003 - Management buy-out at Velo in same month, backed by Lyceum Capital
2004 - Drive:Manager, a new bespoke online total vehicle management service, launched
2004 - Leasedrive Group moves all divisions under one roof into new hi-tech modern headquarters at TRL, reinforcing the group's automotive pedigree
2006 - Leasedrive Group wins the prestigious 'Best Contract Hire/Fleet Management Company' Award in the 2006 Fleet News Awards and 'Leasing/Rental Company of the Year' in the 2006 GreenFleet Awards
2007 - Leasedrive Velo formed following the merger of the Leasedrive Group and Velo on 2 January 2007
2007 - Leasedrive Velo makes millionth rental booking
2008 - Leasedrive Velo wins the Institute of Transport Management (ITM) 'Fleet Management Company 08/09' award.
Each staff member received a commemorative pen, free breakfast and afternoon ice cream. In addition there were prize draws throughout the day and a specially baked 25th anniversary cake.
