Leasedrive Establishes New Fleet Management Division

Leasedrive Group, the subject of a recent BIMBO transaction valued at £45m, has established a separate fleet management division, which will be headed up by new appointee, Ivor Johnson as general manager. This follows the declaration from the Leasedrive Group that it is aiming to build a world class fleet management service capability, backed by the finest asset management system and pioneering web-based customer service technology.
Chief operating officer, David Bird said: "At the time of our BIMBO transaction, we announced that we would be seeking to make some key management appointments as part of our major investment in the business. The first of these, Ivor Johnson as head of our newly-created fleet management division, is a major coup. Ivor is undoubtedly one of the most talented and skilled professionals in the industry. We are proud to have attracted such a high calibre individual, especially as he has come from a business he established. With his unique skill sets, we expect him to make a major contribution to the development of our overall business strategy."
Ivor Johnson, aged 41, was previously managing director of Fleet Logistics UK Limited, a successful fleet management business he set up in March 1997. After returning a profit in 1999, he acquired the business from joint investor, Moores Rowland in March 2000 before selling it a month later to FCE.
Before establishing Fleet Logistics UK, Ivor Johnson worked for Bristol-Myers Squibb Pharmaceuticals, first as UK car fleet manager, then as European fleet manager before being seconded to a new operation based in Paris as associate director, global strategic sourcing (designate). Earlier, he spent ten years with Therm-A-Stor in various accounts functions where he developed a passion for fleet management.
