Company car drivers willing to go green reveals Leasedrive survey
A survey on company car drivers' attitudes by the Leasedrive Group, the largest independent privately-owned vehicle management group in the UK, reveals their willingness to go green. At 93.8 per cent, a huge majority declared that they would be willing to drive an eco-friendly vehicle if all service stations provided adequate refuelling facilities.
Commercial director, Roddy Graham said: "It would appear company car drivers are greener than most people would give them credit for. With the government's target of five per cent of all fuel sold in the UK coming from a renewable source, under its Renewable Transport Fuel Obligation (RTFO), manufacturers and oil companies could help to make this easily achievable by providing a broader range of alternatively-fuelled vehicles and pumps. Our survey indicates an overwhelming willingness by company car drivers to play their part."
Company car drivers are also in favour of adopting a tougher stance on drink/driving with 51.7 per cent wanting a lower drink/driving limit. Only 40.5 per cent want to retain the present limit of 35 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath or 80 milligrams of alcohol to 100 millilitres of blood. Reinforcing the government's decision to ban all smoking in public places from August 2007, 66.5 per cent would back a total ban on smoking while driving a vehicle.
