The Energy Saving Trust 'Fleet Heroes' awards recognise the excellent and important contributions that organisations make to reduce emissions and boost efficiency in the sector. These contributions can have a great impact, not only on the wider environment, but also on an organisations balance sheet and reputation.

The 'Innovation in Services & Systems' award acknowledges organisations that are providing new and innovative products, services and systems to help fleet operators implement solutions in the areas of fuel management, fuel and CO2 reduction, mileage reduction strategies, software and technology, carbon emission monitoring, health and safety and duty of care.

BusinessCar Techies Awards 2009
Best Daily Rental Website

The BusinessCar Techies awards are the first in the fleet industry dedicated to rewarding the best new technology. The aim of these awards is to show fleet and transport managers which gadgetry is best for their businesses in a host of areas. Leasedrive Velo won 'Best Daily Rental Website' for its online vehicle rental management system 'Rental:Manager™'.

Best Environmental Initiative (Highly Commended)

This new award for 2009 recognised the fleet industry's commitment to reducing its impact on the environment. The judges were looking for clear evidence of work that helped fleets become more environmentally-friendly. They wanted clear evidence of products that were of value to fleet operators. Leasedrive Velo were highly commended by the judges in this category.

Leasedrive Velo is proud to have won the 'Business Management Team' award for three consecutive years in 2006, 2007 and 2008.

The Thames Valley Business Magazine Awards are acknowledged as the premier multi-category awards scheme in the region. The awards recognise the "best of business" in the Thames Valley over the past year, and previous winners and finalists have rightly been acclaimed as the area's top achievers.

ITM Awards
Independent Vehicle Management Company

As part of the Institute of Transport Management's (ITM) research into the UK Fleet Industry it identifies those companies who were 'Best in Class' in their particular sector of the Fleet and automotive industry in recognition of their outstanding contribution to the fleet sector and adds them to the ITM's annual Roll of Honour'.

One such company was found to provide the best overall vehicle management service. Leasedrive Velo has been named 'UK Independent Vehicle Management Company 2007' by the Institute of Transport Management and is widely recognised as one of the country's foremost fleet management businesses in the UK.

Judges Comments: A classic case of biggest not necessarily meaning best. Leasedrive Velo found favour for its innovation, clear branding and description of products. Customer service was praised, as was customer retention. Rather than pursuing dominance of the market, the Leasedrive Velo approach is to be smaller and more focused. One judge commented: 'They don't just say it, they do it.' Another said: 'A Leasedrive Velo account manager is a friend for life.'

Green Fleet Awards
Leasing/Rental Company of the Year

Headquartered at the TRL proving ground in Wokingham, Leasedrive Velo is the largest privately owned vehicle management group in the UK. Commercial Director Roddy Graham was responsible for launching the very first commercial car sharing concern - the Edinburgh City Car Club. His latest initiative is Carbon:Manager™, which allows company car drivers to become CarbonNeutral and offset their emissions by investing in environmental projects.

Carbon:Manager™ lets the driver choose from three project types (Renewable Energy, Energy Efficiency or Forestry Projects) which will benefit from monthly offset payments (as little as £3 per month, depending on the mileage and vehicle type). Drivers receive an information pack and a certificate containing details of the chosen project. The CarbonNeutral Company organises these 'offsets' on behalf of Leasedrive Velo and Carbon:Manager™ can form part of a Corporate Social Responsibility programme. When used with Leasedrive Velo's Drive:Manager™ online vehicle management system, it will produce reports that allow management to monitor progress.

Leasedrive Velo is a member of the All Party Parliamentary Climate Change Group. Its environmental policy includes the use of electric and fuel efficient vehicles for logistics and delivery.

Technology Excellence Award

Judges Comments: "The investment in technology by Leasedrive Velo has driven real value for them and for Microsoft. The implementation of a new web site and user interface completely transformed their ability to provide an effective car solution offering, which is being hosted entirely on Windows Server technology. I welcome Leasedrive Velo's forward thinking and continued focus on technology innovations."
